Experience a smarter, fully traceable sample preparation process -optimized for sensitive materials and seamlessly integrated with digital lab automation. Welcome to the Smart Cold Chain, where precision meets connectivity.
It all starts with a sample safely stored in the LIEBHERR laboratory fridge-freezer combination with NoFrost. Samples and solvents are cooled and monitored in a temperature-controlled environment. Integrated with DÜPERTHAL connect, the system automatically monitors temperature in real time, eliminating manual checks and ensures storage conditions around the clock.
Using the DÜPERTHAL connect inventory management solution, the sample is checked out and transferred to the iHEX system, the modular lab furniture, equipped with an integrated analytical balance. The LABITUDE workflow is initiated via tablet or touchscreen, guiding users through every step of the process.
Precise sample portions are weighed directly into labeled beakers. Weight data and inventory updates are automatically synced with the DÜPERTHAL connect inventory system, ensuring full transparency, minimized manual input, and significant time savings. The process is mirrored for cooled solvents like ethanol and water, ensuring both sample and reagent are perfectly prepared and accounted for.
Next, a stirring bar of 2MAG and Sens-o-Spheres of AMENSIO are manually added to the beaker. The Sens-o-Spheres-sensor continuously logs temperature data during the mixing and heating process, with seamless digital documentation available within the system.
The cobot, a UR5e by UNIVERSAL ROBOTS, takes over from here:
• It transfers the beaker to the 2MAG dry bath.
• The operator triggers stirring and heating through LABITUDE.
• After the timer completes, the cobot removes the beaker and places it in a defined transfer location, ready for the next step; automated titration.
From cold chain storage to titration-ready samples, the Smart Cold Chain workflow delivers precision, traceability, and hands-free efficiency - redefining how labs handle temperature-sensitive materials.

Sens-o-Spheres by amensio – The Smallest Wireless Temperature Sensors for Smarter Process Development
The Sens-o-Spheres from amensio GmbH are cherry pit-sized and fully self-sustained microsensors, designed for location-independent, non-invasive measurements, they follow the flow and deliver real-time data without disrupting your system. With wireless recharging and the ability to run up to 24 sensors in parallel per system, Sens-o-Spheres accelerate and enhance process development like never before.
Fridge Monitoring – safe storage at low temperatures with DÜPERTHAL
In research laboratories, samples are essential for scientific progress. Many of these samples are temperature-sensitive and must be stored under constant conditions to maintain their stability and integrity. Even minor temperature fluctuations can trigger chemical reactions or render biological samples unusable, negatively impacting valuable research and causing significant financial losses.
To prevent risks such as sample loss, we provide temperature sensors for freezers and fridges. This technology is connected to DÜPERTHAL connect monitoring solution and detects anomalies early on, such as technical failures, power outages, or doors left open, providing the foundation for optimal storage conditions.
DÜPERTHAL connect Inventory Management
The inventory management system - DÜPERTHAL connect - enables the precise assignment of hazardous materials to individual storage areas and offers an efficient search function. It includes an integrated product catalog and hazardous material labeling according to GHS. The system facilitates easy maintenance of inventory levels, automatic recommendations for co-storage, and QR code scanning for smart iventory management.
SCFvh 4032 Perfection Laboratory Combination Refrigeration & Freezer
Designed to ensure precise temperature control, the NEW combination refrigerator-freezer maintains maximum stability, keeping the refrigerator compartment within ±3°C of the set temperature, and the freezer compartment within ±5°C. Multiple alarm functions safeguard against unanticipated temperature fluctuations, enabling quick responses to protect the integrity of sensitive materials. In the event of a malfunction causing the temperature to drop below +2°C, the integrated SafetyDevice system takes over, preventing the contents from freezing. Additionally, the appliance can be connected to a Monitoring system through WiFi/LAN, ensuring continuous documentation and real-time monitoring to address potential risks proactively. The SCFvh 4032 model, part of Liebherr's Perfection series, is built with a strong focus on safety and adheres to key industry standards, including IEC 61010-2-011 and DIN 13277. This appliance is ideal for general laboratory use, offering reliability and consistency to meet the needs of demanding environments.
