Lab Safety Show
Hands-on guidance on best practices in lab safety
Experience exciting demos and insights into lab safety
Almost all accidents result from a lack of awareness of potential hazards or a failure to follow safety protocols. To prevent incidents, it is essential to handle hazardous substances correctly and to understand the key principles of laboratory safety. Find out how a laboratory is optimally organised when it comes to personal protective equipment. Occupational safety experts will explain and demonstrate the correct handling of chemicals in the laboratory.
The Lab Safety Show will guide you through the subject of laboratory safety and will illustrate risks and raises awareness of preventive measures when handling hazardous substances in laboratories and research. You will experience a specialist lecture in which hazards caused by the interaction of different substances are demonstrated in small live experiments. Participants will be made aware of the properties of flammable substances and the sources of danger that arise from improper storage. You will also learn how to take protective and preventive measures.
We will also take a critical look at the handling of lithium-ion batteries. The basic functions of these modern energy storage devices are explained. We look at cases of damage and provide practical tips. We also address the complex phenomenon of thermal runaway, shed light on the state of the art in storage and provide recommendations for fire protection measures during operation.
